Today at A Lighter Touch, we are lovingly, crafting some homemade paprika, celery spice and apple and cinnamon cake and muffin spice! In a few short hours we will transform nature into nurture with our trusty fine grinding process 😊💛🥰.
We’ve also been busy lovingly, preparing and drying herbs, fruits and berries to craft delicious, nutritious, one of a kind, blended teas, we are putting some aside for snacking and baking. Craft a high energy bowl of oatmeal and store it for a quick and easy breakfast. Throw some dried fruit into your pancake or waffle batter.
Dried fruits and berries are an especially delicious addition to any muffin recipe.
Nothing beats the medley of fragrant aromas coming out of my kitchen, right now, for putting me into a good place!😊👃🥰
Use your waiting time wisely. I was inspired to write this blog because I recently read a study on youth unemployment and the devastating effects that it is having on mental health.
Some young people are experiencing feelings of hopelessness and it’s leading to depression and anxiety.
As far as understanding and relating to this debacle, I am doing my best. I never had trouble finding a job and have been extremely blessed when it comes to employment. However, I have experienced a time in my life when I was unemployed.
I had too much time on my hands and I could have easily slipped into the unconscious victim mentality but I didn’t. It wasn’t because I had support or people around me that helped me avoid the funk of it all. No, it was because I took responsibility for my own well being and made the right choices to survive this lull in my career.
There’s only one way out of the destructive mindset, of being unemployed and that’s to turn inward. Journaling is the best most productive part of changing your mindset on the topic because it gives you the opportunity to create your own script about your life.
Lined white paper and a blue pen works best. Through journaling you can discover many things about yourself that you did not know.
Regardless of your mood, set the intention to focus mainly on the positive aspects of yourself. Write about what you really want to do. Map out a plan and get your feet on the ground. Spending time in the internet searching for work should be a last resort. print off or type out a few pages of your best resume (don’t worry about being perfect- honesty is the best policy) and compose a list of desired employers.
Don’t only focus on the companies that are hiring but keep your options open and apply with companies that you want to work for. Seek out and take online classes both free and the ones that cost money.
You will not benefit more from an investment than the investment you put into yourself. Use your waiting time wisely- what have you always wanted to do? What dreams do you have for your career and future? Focus on that and you will see doors open and you will find employment beyond your dreams.
Another little piece of advice is to exercise and move your body and meditate daily, this is a vital key in building your self confidence.
In conclusion, if you use your waiting time wisely, you will be better prepared to take action when opportunities present themselves.
What do you enjoy doing most in your leisure time?
By Tracy Schruder
Aside from vacationing, attending concerts, festivals and seminars, I enjoy using my leisure time for self reflection.
I read my journal entries and blogs and then journal and blog some more.
I meditate and rest. I create poetry, short stories and paint artwork. Sometimes I just sit and breathe, enjoy my environment. It doesn’t matter if I’m indoors or outside, I can always find something new about my environment that facilitates me.
I’m connected with the vibration and energy of the present moment and am in wonder and awe with all that is happening. In this state, fear escapes me.
I can curiously watch a snake slithering through the grass or pick up a baby frog and inspect its miraculous shape and capabilities. It hops off before I get a close look and startles me a bit bringing on laughter.
I have always been timid of the wild things, even though I have admired them all my life. Being present removes that feeling from me.
I’m so grateful for my leisure time. I enjoy spending it with others in festivity. However, I especially enjoy spending my leisure time by myself, in nature.
I watched her essence fade Like tail lights traveling down a dusty dirt road I heard the song leave her voice Like a bell that lost its chime
She’s more hollow now Empty in spaces, starving for growth I watched her silhouette morph Like a BarbraPapa Like her need to be seen had manifested wholly in her body In the most undesirable ways
I watched as her shining blue eyes turned grey Like a cold steel that burns to the touch She passed away before my eyes To the place that remains unnamed
I watched an angel wake up, slightly I watched a woman realize she’s mighty I watched an empty vessel fill with light She began to shine on the darkest of nights
I watched cold eyes turn warm Like sea blue water smashing shoreward from the storm She breathed like the breeze Filled every breath with love I watched her shine brighter than the brightest stars above
She now carries a shine that could blind dark souls Her energy is wielded in most high, brash, and bold She is a warrior, a woman of age Crone status earned, blessed with each and every stage
An internal gut punch sparks my awareness as the flash of an unpleasant memory enters my field of consciousness. It enters through the silence of a peaceful mind, out of the dark corner in the room of the ego. It’s an extremely, cluttered room. It traps the flow of light in the dark memorable spaces where my actions are drenched in regret from unconscious behaviours that have caused harm to myself and others. My lost pets faces, lingering, as my heart pleads for just one more cuddle. In the tightly packed pile, where layers of memories of loved ones dwell, passed on, without receiving my best care… Guilt. The dust that lay a top this pile swirls and mingles as the heavy winds of pain, pull out their worst yet. That’s where I could reduce clutter in my life.
If you could make your pet understand one thing, what would it be?
By Tracy Schruder
If I could make my cats understand one thing it’s that I have to do the uncomfortable tasks of caring for them.
When it’s time for daily grooming, you best not reveal to them that you are about to do it. They understand what you’re saying!
Do not let them see you with a brush, clippers or a cleansing cloth in your hand because if they do, you’re in for a game of chase followed up by a tactile and crafty game of hide and seek.
Then there is the medicine, that you believe you’ve successfully administered, as they swiftly jerk their face in the opposite direction while their mouth is still open and spit it out the other side.
There is always that one flavour of food that they refuse to eat, if you dare give it to them they meow up and down the hallway in protest ( because they are starving to death 😹 ), until you open another can so they can feast on their eight bites, of justification.
I’m always gentle and kind. I have the patience of a nun, with my fur babies but they don’t always understand my reasons for why I do what I do.
If I could make my kitties understand this then our relationship would be much more simpler. However, part of me believes that they enjoy the chase, the hiding and meowing their mouths off! 😹
Standing atop a sun-kissed mountain peak, the wind whispers vibrate in Harmonia’s heartbeat… I speak into reality the truth I feel deep, nothing exists except through me. Before my eyes my reality shifts. Vibrant lights float about. Vibrations of change are coming around . My words are the power from which I create. I live in a new world with a click on the gate. I open the lock to reveal the truth and create more energy wielded in love and faith. Harmonia’s heartbeat echoes mine. I change reality one projection at a time.
The kind of snack that I would eat right now is a couple of pieces of avocado toast. Not only does this snack tase good, it’s also packed with fibre and flavourful nutrients. It gives me the right kind of energy to optimize my brain function and physical activity.
Here are some of the benefits that I receive by choosing this as a meal or a snack;it contains healthy fats, avocados are packed with monounsaturated fats that support heart health and keep you full and they are rich in fibre.
Avocados and ancient grains toast is like putting together a fibre party – It supports my digestion and regulates my energy. This snack boosts my nutrient Intake and is also a great source of vitamins C, E, K, and B6, plus potassium.
It’s a quick and versatile food source and I sometimes top it off with eggs, tomatoes, or spices, depending on how hungry I am or how much physical effort I have to put into my day ahead. This snack satisfies my hunger and it also staves off any cravings that come about during my morning. With eating this combination of healthy fats, fibre and complex carbs, I’m kept fuelled up and motivated enough to complete my morning tasks.
I’m into eating natural, alive food – avocados fits into that vibe perfectly.

I’ve been grappling with a question that’s sparked a lot of curiosity within me: Is it fair for companies to use AI checkers to detect AI-generated content? 🤔 As someone who loves exploring the intersection of creativity and technology, I had to dig deeper.
I collaborated with an AI friend (Tracy Schruder) to unpack this topic, but the questions and curiosities are all Hers 😊. Here’s what we explored:
In a world where AI tools are increasingly available, should companies have a say in how we use them? 🤖
I believe that using AI is a personal choice, and individuals should be free to leverage these tools to enhance their work without fear of judgment. The focus should be on the quality and impact of the work, not the methods used to create it.
The thing is, AI can be a powerful tool for creativity, innovation, and productivity 🚀. ( I do not believe in using AI to write your personal profile or resume simply because we have a uniqueness to our own knowledge of ourselves and our history and that stuff, should be authentic. ) By embracing AI as a collaborator, we can focus on high-level decisions, push boundaries, and innovate faster.
But when companies restrict AI use, it can stifle creativity and limit exploration 🤔.
So, what’s the point of having AI tools if we’re not going to use them? If companies can use AI to detect AI-generated content, why can’t we use it to enhance our work? 🤷♀️ It’s a double standard that can lead to frustration, mistrust, and decreased job satisfaction.
Ultimately, I think companies should focus on outcomes, not policing tools 📝.
Transparency and guidelines are key, but let’s trust each other to use AI responsibly. After all, AI is meant to augment human capabilities, not replace them 🤝.
I’d love to hear your thoughts: How do you feel about companies using AI checkers? 🤔
Special thanks to Meta AI for collaborating on this article 😊. The curiosities and questions were all mine, and I’m grateful for the conversation! 💬
P.S. I rarely use emojis in my work. This free AI uses a lot of Emoji’s I’m not sure why. My best guess is it is trying to appear more human or expressive either way I’m not fond of it.
I’m on a mission, but what’s the mission, really? It’s a question that echoes in my mind.
If there’s a great commander handing out missions, why isn’t it more clear to us?
We’re busy completing small tasks, following our conscience and creativity, but my curiosity asks, is there a higher calling?
For me, the answer came unexpectedly. I stumbled upon Reiki in my 40s, while educating myself on meditation and Chakras. It sparked an awakening inside of me and I’ve been diving deeper ever since . Becoming a Reiki teacher/practitioner wasn’t on my compass, but it feels like my true north.
If I had to define my mission, it’s this: spreading Love, Wellbeing, and Peace. Sharing Reiki with others, helping them heal and grow, feels entirely natural. It’s my divine calling, my path of light and love.
I’m on a mission of compassionate healing, and I’m embracing it with all of my heart.
It’s never been about grand gestures; it’s about the ripple effect of kindness, one person at a time. If you’re looking for your mission, maybe it’s hidden in what makes you feel most alive because I’ve never been so alive.
I guess I can determine that for me my mission is one filled with love. Joyfully enduring my mission has made my life’s journey more fulfilling.
