    Have you ever found yourself putting off a trip to the bathroom, thinking it’s no big deal? Perhaps you’ve been too busy or didn’t want to take a break from your activities. However, ignoring nature’s call can have unintended consequences on our health. As a society, we need to prioritize good bowel and bladder habits to prevent various health issues.

    The Risks of Holding Waste

    Holding waste for extended periods can lead to a range of health problems, including:

    – Constipation: Infrequent bowel movements can cause stool to become hard and dry, making it difficult to pass.

    – Bowel distension: Holding stool can cause the bowel to stretch and become enlarged, leading to discomfort and pain.

    – Incontinence: Weakening of the bladder and bowel muscles can lead to incontinence issues.

    – Other complications: Holding waste can also lead to hemorrhoids, anal fissures, and other complications.

    A Personal Story of Recovery

    I learned this lesson the hard way. As a child, I would often hold my waste until it was almost unbearable. Unfortunately, this habit led to complications later in life, including an enlarged bowel and weak bladder. However, I’ve been fortunate enough to reverse the damage through lifestyle changes. By eating a balanced diet rich in fiber, drinking plenty of water, and responding to nature’s call when I need to, I’ve been able to cure my problems and regain control over my bowel and bladder health.

  • How I Unwind After a Stressful Day

    How do you unwind after a demanding day?

    After a demanding day, I find relief in watching funny videos and television shows that make me laugh. This simple pleasure has a profound effect on my stress levels, allowing me to shift my focus away from the pressures of the day. Interestingly, laughter also triggers memories of past stressful situations that, in hindsight, have become humorous anecdotes.

    One such experience that comes to mind is a particularly harrowing incident from my time working in a factory on the paint line. The machinery consisted of moving hangers that suspended metal pieces above shoulder height, carrying them into an electrified paint system. On this particular day, I was preoccupied with my thoughts and not fully present. Before I knew it, one of the hangers caught my shirt sleeve at the shoulder, lifting me off the floor and propelling me towards the dangerous machinery. Thankfully, my boss spotted the situation and shut down the line just in time. I was yelling, and my heart was racing.

    At the time, the experience was terrifying, and the aftermath was stressful. We had emergency safety training, which meant everyone had to stay an extra hour after their shift. Some co-workers were understandably frustrated, but were ultimately glad I was okay and took it easy on me. Some of them actually found it quite funny and giggled about the whole situation. I reflected on the incident later, I realized that laughter could be a powerful antidote to stress.

    When I shared the story with my husband, his reaction surprised me. Instead of offering sympathy, he burst out laughing. Initially, I was taken aback, but his infectious laughter soon had me giggling too. The relief was palpable, and we spent the rest of the evening chuckling about the incident. For weeks afterward, whenever he asked about my day, he’d smile and say, “Any more paint line adventures?” and we’d laugh together.

    This experience taught me a valuable lesson about the importance of humor in coping with stress. By choosing to see the lighter side of unfortunate events, I’ve found that I can alleviate some of the tension and anxiety that comes with them. When all else fails, I turn to my favorite comedies, and laughter does the rest.

  • My Simple Approach to Social Media

    How do you use social media?

    I use social media to advertise my Reiki Treatment and Teaching services. I share and sell my Jewelry, Spell kits, Smoke sticks and artwork to my followers and clients . I also use it to keep in touch with family and share photos with the members who are on my friends list, that might not, otherwise, be able to attend family reunions or weddings. Additionally, I use it to stay available to family and friends, so they can contact me in case of a death in the family or other matters that might concern me. That’s it. I could live without it; it hasn’t really added anything significant to my life. I prefer using the video chat feature rather than typing messages. I like to save my typing for my writing. Plus, with live conversations, there’s less room for misunderstandings. I value the clarity and connection that comes with video chats.

    In the end, social media is a tool, and like any tool, its value lies in how we choose to use it. For me, that means keeping things simple, focusing on what truly matters, and prioritizing meaningful connections over video chats and supporting others through my likes and shares. I hope my approach inspires you to find your own balance and make the most of the digital world, without letting it consume your life.

I’m disappointed and angry with myself for losing sight of what truly matters and for squandering money that could have been spent on meaningful experiences. But I’m determined to move forward, and that’s why I’ve excluded myself from all gaming sites and am working hard to rediscover myself. Through this blog post, I hope to help others avoid the pitfalls I encountered and find a healthier path forward. By sharing my story, I aim to support those who may be struggling with similar issues and encourage them to seek help and reclaim their lives.

  • The Power of Pretend: Unlocking the Law of Attraction

    Pretending is a powerful tool for navigating the law of attraction. As a child, I discovered the magic of pretend play, and it has stayed with me to this day.

    My earliest memories of pretending date back to visits with my cousins. They were masters of imagination, using props and vivid storytelling to bring their fantasies to life. I remember one particularly memorable afternoon when we created shadow puppets using a white blind, a lamp, and our creativity. We took turns making silhouettes, challenging each other to guess what fantastical creatures we had conjured up. I recall curling my fingers and body into absurd shapes, bringing elephants, airplanes, and other whimsical creations to life.

    Another memorable experience that stands out was when my other cousins came to visit and pretended that monsters lurked in the closet. We had to imagine what these creatures looked like, and then see who could last ten minutes in the closet with the monsters. This exercise in creative fearlessness sparked something within me, and I began to realize the boundless potential of my imagination.

    As I grew older, I came to understand the connection between pretending and the law of attraction. By vividly imagining a desired outcome, I could tap into the energy of manifestation. Pretending allowed me to bypass limitations and doubts, embracing instead the infinite possibilities of my dreams.

    Incorporating pretend play into your daily life can have a profound impact on your ability to attract what you want. Whether it’s through creative visualization, journaling, or simply daydreaming, pretending can help you:

    – Clarify your desires and intentions

    – Overcome self-doubt and limiting beliefs

    How have you adapted to the changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic?

    We have adapted well to the changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic.
    My husband and I worked through the whole thing, so, we didn’t really feel the pinch from it all. We don’t travel by airplane and don’t anticipate going anywhere, any time soon, therefore, the new rules would not effect us. However, Things have changed as far as the government and their level of control. I find that unsettling.

    The Canadian government has enacted several pieces of legislation, such as the Quarantine Act and the Aeronautics Act, to address the pandemic. These laws have granted the government increased emergency powers, including the ability to issue orders and regulations to ensure public safety. 

    Travel Restrictions and Border Measures

    To slow the spread of the virus, the government has implemented travel restrictions and border measures, such as mandatory quarantine, testing requirements, and restrictions on non-essential travel. These measures have been adjusted over time as the pandemic has evolved. 

    Economic Support and Relief

    The government has also introduced various economic support and relief measures, including the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) and the Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB), to help Canadians and businesses affected by the pandemic.

    The changes in government control have had a significant impact on individuals and communities across Canada. Some of the effects include:

  • Chicken Soup For The Bowl

    I’m a huge fan of chicken soup, but only if it’s homemade. Store-bought just can’t compare to the rich flavors and nutrients that come from a lovingly prepared pot of homemade goodness. My mom made the best homemade chicken soup I’ve ever tasted. I have tried, on several occasions, to emulate the flavour but a main ingredient is always missing. That ingredient is her. I believe we miss that most, when people pass away. No one can ever cook the same as mom did because they are not her. She, herself, was her own secret ingredient.

    A Hearty and Nourishing Tradition
    Mom’s soup was a staple in our household, always chock-full of fresh vegetables and leftover chicken boiled off the bone. Always boiled off the bone because that broth was essential to the soup. It was a meal in itself, and on cold winter days, it was the perfect comfort food to warm us up on our lunchtime trip home from school. As my grandfather used to say, it “warmed up your inners” like nothing else could.

    More Than Just a Meal
    But mom’s soup was more than just a meal; it had a way of opening hearts and drying away tears. On tough days, her soup came with hugs and gentle, tear-wiping gestures from her apron. It was a reminder that sometimes, all we need is a little comfort and love to get us through. She would serve it not only to us kids but her dad and brother would drop in for a bowl every once in a while. They would come over on their lunch break the odd day. She enjoyed it when this happened because she always got to catch up with them. Oh, and certainly, over a piping hot bowl of her soup, they would confide in her and receive her loving comfort and advice, as well.

    Love and Comfort
    As I grew older, I began to appreciate the love and care that went into every pot of mom’s homemade chicken soup. Each time I make a batch, I’m reminded of her and the comfort she brought to our family. I used to joke that Jack had the “soup for the soul,” but mom had the “better soup for the bowl.” Little did I know, Jack might have been right – chicken soup is indeed for the soul…

    A Tribute to Mom’s Love
    I started writing this blog post with the intention of sharing my many chicken soup recipes, but it morphed into something more. As I reflected on mom’s homemade chicken soup, I couldn’t help but share my feelings and the memories that came flooding back. It’s a testament to the power of food to evoke emotions, create connections, and transcend time. Mom’s homemade chicken soup, a gift of your love and comfort. As my soup brews in the pot, I breathe in the pleasant aroma and enjoy warm memories of my mom’s chicken soup for the bowl.

    Lizzie is never afraid to try something new. She explores every aspect of the process. She has an excellent memory and this helps her teach her sisters and friends how to do or play whatever she learns.

Getting older hasn’t dampened her enthusiasm for imagination and she always seems to be able to make something out of nothing.
